To be seen with an EMONI bag is cool but your mum can have one too. From pretty vintage designs to minimalist Bauhaus geometric patterns, we source light and heavyweight, hardwearing fabrics with our spectacles on. We then match and mis-match them with accessories and stitching to give them better personalities. We know what we like, and we hope you and your mum will like it too.
EMONI bags are as kind as possible on the environment because we only use fabrics that already exist in space. We don’t commission factories to print new stuff, we just find cool fabrics that other people have already made for us, and then we buy them and get them to send them to us and we make bags out of them.
Some of the fabrics are hand-made, and some of them are vintage; we stitch them together in fine hand-stitching to create our bags. At the same time despite the hand-made and individually-sourced nature of our products, we try our very hardest to keep prices low. EMONI bags were first created as an attempt to create a cheap solution to our needs, without looking cheap (unless you want it to), and we want to keep it that way.
Things that are important to us:
COLOUR Ever since Sir Isaac Newton published his Opticks in 1704, nobody has been able to argue that colour is not all around us. Sir Newton said that colours are even in white things! And we think that’s completely excellent. We love colour, we get off on colour. Colour is life, colour is alive.
PATTERN Without pattern, there would be no world, no life, no reality – it is what creates us, it is what binds us. Without pattern there would definitely be no zigzags and probably not any dancing either.
TEXTURE To live in a world where textures did not exist would be to live in a pancake. Without textures there would be a world of flat surfaces, on one contour, on one line. Life is about textures, it is about the things that you feel and experience in the three-dimensional. Without texture, there would be no velvet or buck’s fizz or snogging. Emoni fabrics embody texture.
